Don’t overwhelm yourself with goals and new years resolutions for 2019 but also don’t sit on your hands and hope things will happen for you.

Go out and do the work.

I think that’s where we lose ourselves and our focus; because we try and do too many things at once.

What we need to remember is that doing one thing alone requires time and attention and you need to put in the effort into completing one goal alone and the time and attention that that one goal requires all depends on how big the goal is.

I’ve set up 5 goals for myself for 2019 and if I can achieve only those 5 goals next year then I will be satisfied.

  • Get my license (Finally)
  • Pay off my credit card
  • Become published
  • Get my passport
  • Learn to play guitar

Now it’s important to write your goals down and to write them down in order of importance and have it some place where you will always see it.

I know that is a cliché but it works.

Share your goals with someone who will encourage you to achieve them. Someone who will remind you to keep pushing but also tell you to remain patient.

It’s important to remain patient when you are in the pursuit of achieving goals; nothing good happens overnight. These things take work and trial and error so don’t be too hard on yourself when it doesn’t happen when and how you want it to happen.

It is also helpful to share your personal tips on achieving goals, that way you get in touch with other people and you can share ideas.

Do something every day that will bring you closer to achieving that goal.

You have 7 days in a week. Don’t waste it next year.

Break up the days and decide on which day you will work on which goal and keep to it. You need to plan these things or else it will not work out.

Consistency is also an important key when you want to achieve something. You need to finish what you start. If you don’t, you will just be disappointing yourself.

Of course you have other small milestones that you want to reach but I am sure if you focus on the big ones, the small ones will start taking shape and also come to be realised.

Do not get distracted next year and do not find yourself in the same place you were in 2018.

Elevate to greater heights and don’t be afraid to do more and test your own limits. I’m saying this as much to you as I’m saying it to myself.

Let’s be great in 2019 and every year that follows. Let’s reach new levels.

If you still feel that you haven’t achieved all that you should and you still wake up every morning, you still have a purpose.

Don’t waste your life.

Do not repeat bad habits or toxic behaviour or unhealthy relationships.

Grow and blossom in 2019 so that when you find yourself in December of 2019, you can say,

Imagine that feeling once you have achieved a goal and you can just breath and appreciate all the work you have put in. There is no greater feeling in doing something that you never thought you would actually do.

If you achieve only 2 of the 5 or 6 goals you have set out for yourself, be proud.

Do not put yourself under unnecessary pressure to perform, you still need to take care of yourself but don’t be too relaxed either. Find a balance to make your success work for you and not against you.
