SHAPES IN THE SKY
1 min readApr 17, 2019
I remember as a child
I lay on the grass
With my head cradled by my arms
Feeling the prickling of the grass
On the back of my neck
Gazing up at the sky
Squinting as the sun
Invaded my vision
Sharing ideas with my siblings
On the shapes in the sky
Once I saw a rabbit
Looking white and fluffy
My sister saw a flower
Maybe the bud of a rose
My brother much more adventurous
Saw the glimpse of a horseman
With his steed galloping
Through the clouds
We would lay on the grass
Until it wet our backs
And make out shapes and stories
On the canvas of the heavens
These remain some
Of the best memories
Of my childhood.
