BEAUTIFUL, BAD BODY

So I’ve been on this journey in the past, always struggling and fighting with myself. Telling myself it doesn’t matter and then hating myself the next moment.

This was taken last week when I started training again.

I want to have a firm, toned and strong body. I know 100 % that that’s what I want. I want to be able to wear clothes that compliment all my curves in all the right places and I want to look good and feel even better about myself. I’ve been in this place a million times before and for a short period in my life I actually achieved that goal.

It has always been a dream of mine to rock a two piece bikini.I have worn one before but not with confidence; always covering up my thighs or my stomach but I really just want to wear a bikini without feeling shy about the way my body looks. That is my personal goal.

This picture is from 2017 in Mosselbaai, South Africa

If you are in a place where you are happy with your body just the way it is; whether you’re up on the scale or down or the scale, and you are 100% happy with that, then I look up to you and I admire you for your confidence and to that I say, well done!

But like I said, this is a personal goal for me and I’m hoping this is the year that I achieve it.

Many people will say that you shouldn’t focus so much on how you look but on how you feel and I completely agree but sometimes looking good and fit helps with self-confidence. Especially, if like me, you don’t always feel great about the way you look.

I love my body, that’s why I want to take care of it. I have given birth twice to 2 beautiful children and its important for me to be able to teach my son and daughter to love themselves by taking care of their bodies.

What you put into your body will always show on the outside.

It’s very difficult to get into a routine when you are a working mom or dad and you have kids and you try to get in some rest before the kids come home from school and you try to do some reading and maybe attempt to cook or pack some closets just to give your life some order.

But I have been taking it one day at a time; this will be my second week of consistent training and I am doing what I can. As long as I keep my body moving and trying to eat healthy, I know that I am one step closer to my goal.

It’s very difficult and sometimes expensive to eat healthy; sometimes you end up eating the same thing over and over again because its all you can afford but as long as it works for you, that is all that matters.

I live on jungle oats and eggs. I love bread but I have been trying to cut down on it. My philosophy now is that if its bad, sugary and fatty, it should not go into my mouth.

The worst feeling you can experience when you are on a journey like this, is that of disappointment when you have skipped a workout or eaten something you shouldn’t have but its not a train smash. The key to this is consistency; you need to always have your goal in your mind and remind yourself every day why you are doing this.

The above quote from the bible just illustrates how important it is to look after your body. Your body is being described as a temple, imagine that?? If you’ve seen temples, you’ll know that it is beautiful, magnificent buildings, with shining ceilings and gold embellishments and it probably took years to build and it stood the test of time. Some temples in the world are over 1000 years old.

Venkateshwara is one of the oldest temples in India.

That’s how you should see your body, a temple that you are building and that you want to have for the rest of your life. Something you are putting work into and that will stand the test of time and something for others to strive for.
